Full House Rewire in Poole

The Brief

A family home in Poole was living with an ageing electrical installation that was no longer fit for how the household used it. The wiring had been added to over many years, sockets were in short supply, and the old board offered little in the way of modern protection. The owners wanted the property brought fully up to date, with a rewire from top to bottom, a new consumer unit, and enough sockets and lighting to suit day to day family life.

What We Did

Our work included:

• Planned the rewire around the household: We walked through each room with the owners to agree where sockets, switches and lights should go, so the finished layout suited how they actually use the home rather than where the old wiring happened to run.
• Renewed the wiring throughout: Old cabling was replaced with new circuits run neatly through floors, walls and ceilings, keeping disruption to a minimum and making good as we went.
• Fitted a new consumer unit: The outdated board was replaced with a modern consumer unit giving each circuit its own protection, so a single fault no longer takes out the whole house.
• Updated sockets and lighting: Additional sockets were added where they were needed, and new lighting was installed throughout, including feature and LED fittings.
• Tested and certified the installation: Every circuit was fully tested on completion and the work was certified, giving the owners written proof it meets the current wiring regulations.

The Result

A safe, modern installation that suits the way the family lives. The new consumer unit and fresh wiring give far better protection than the old setup, and the extra sockets and improved lighting have made the home more practical and comfortable to use. The owners have the certification to prove the work is safe and compliant, and a system that is ready for the demands of a modern household for years to come.

Job Duration: Completed over several days from initial assessment through to final testing, certification and handover.
